Four districts of the northeastern border province of Nakhon Phanom have been hit with floods from overflows from inland streams while water in the Mekong river continues to rise.

Water in the Mekong river in front of the Nakhon Phanom Municipality office in Muang district was 12.55 metres high, only about 45 centimetres below the edge of the bank.

In Ban Phaeng district, two riverside villages were inundated. About 50 houses were damaged. Ban Phaeng Pithayakhom School, which was 30-50cm under water, was ordered closed indefinitely.

In Si Songkhram district, the Songkhram river overflowed to flood two villages with 240 houses. Twelve village roads were .80-1m under water.  At the bridge across the Songkhram river, the road was flooded for about 2 kilometres.

In Tha Uthen district, the Nam Thuay stream spilled over the banks to inundate Tha Uthen-Non Tan road, making it impassable to small vehicles.

In That Phanom district, the Mekong river overflowed to floods hundreds of rai of farmland.
