Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan insisted this morning that the upcoming general election will take place as scheduled in February and dismissed rumours that it could be postponed to April.

“I still stand by the February 24 timeframe and see no factors that would cause a delay,” he said

Gen Prawit was commenting on speculation by some politicians that the election could be delayed until the end of April.

When asked whether a political chaos could delay the election, Gen Prawit said people want to see an election and there is no justification for it to be delayed. He insisted that the government already has a clear political roadmap.
