Family of deceased army cadet petitions Medical Council

Family of deceased armed forces cadet Pakapong “ Moei” Tanyakan filed a complaint with the secretariat of the Medical Council, demanding a probe into the conduct of the doctors at Phra Mongkutklao military hospital.

The family said in the complaint letter that they doubted the autopsy report of Pakapong’s death that it was properly done in accordance with the code of conduct as the autopsy outcome was different from that conducted by the Central Institute of Forensic Science.

The 18-year old first year cadet of the Armed Forces Preparatory School died on October 17 last year in what the family suspected to be a result of foul play.  But autopsy report from the Phra Mongkutklao hospital said he died of sudden cardiac arrest.

But autopsy report of the Central Institute of Forensic Science showed the cadet suffered several broken rib bones.

A legal official of the Medical Council accepted the complaint letter to be forwarded to the council.  He told the family that the case would take between 6-7 months.
