Ex-Palang Pracharat candidate kowtows before Seripisut seeking forgiveness

Members of the media, government officials and politicians have been treated to a rare and embarrassing incident, when a former candidate for the Palang Pracharat party knelt and made a “wai” to plead for forgiveness from Seri Ruam Thai party leader Seripisut Temiyavet and for the withdrawal of a defamation charge.

After the brief ritual of submission, which was witnessed by several people, Mr. Teethat Kiatladarom said he apologized for accusing Seripisut of corruption, in the procurement of Tiger motorcycles from China for the police force, when the latter was the national police chief.

Appearing unembarrassed and expressionless, he told the media that he agreed to grovel at the feet of Seripisut to seek his forgiveness, adding that he has also quit the Palang Pracharat party.

Earlier, he did the same before the media, but the former police chief refused to budge.
