The Finance Ministry will seek cabinet approval next week for the "Easy e-Receipt" scheme, under which consumers who spend up to 50,000 baht on products or services will be eligible for an income tax deduction to promote domestic spending.
The scheme would cover consumer spending made from January 1. The spending can only be at stores that can issue electronic receipts and cannot be used for spending on cigarettes, beer, wine, liquor, other tobacco products, cars, motorcycles, boats, mobile phone services, public utilities, fuel, internet services, electricity or non-life insurance premiums.
Producers under the “One Tambon One Product” project interested in benefitting from the scheme must register with the Community Development Department between January 1 and February 15.
Consumers will receive tax reductions for their purchases in the 2025 tax year, payable at the beginning of 2026.
