Police have arrested iCon Group CEO Waratphol Waratvorakul on fraud charges and have issued arrest warrants for three major members of the Group on the same charges.
The three individuals also face charges of violations of the Computer Act. They are Kan Kantathavorn, Peechaya “Min” Wattanamontree, and Yuranunt “Sam” Pamornmontri.
Crime Suppression Bureau officers visited the Consumer Protection Board offices on Chaengwattana Road, where Waratphol had been invited to provide information related to his iCon Group business today.
He was read the arrest warrant at 4 PM before being detained and escorted to the Crime Suppression office.
The arrest follows the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) sequestering assets belonging to the iCon Group, its CEO, and three top executives for 90 days.
The assets, valued at about 125 million baht, were seized as a precautionary measure to prevent them from being transferred, removed, or concealed.
