Air quality in Bangkok has worsened today, with 11 districts found to have high levels of PM2.5 dust, compared to only three districts yesterday.
The Air Quality Information Centre of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported at 7am today that PM2.5 was found to exceed 37.5µg/m³ (microns), the standard level, in these 11 districts:
· Bueng Kum, 46.9µg/m³
· Lat Krabang - 46.5µg/m³
· Pathum Wan - 44.8µg/m³
· Bang Rak - 43.8µg/m³
· Prawet - 43.2µg/m³
· Bang Na - 40.7µg/m³
· Sathorn - 40.7µg/m³
· Bangkok Yai - 40µg/m³
· Rat Burana - 38.4µg/m³
· Ratchathewi - 38.4µg/m³
· Nong Khaem - 38.2µg/m³
The centre reported, however, that the average air quality in Bangkok is classified as moderate, today, although there is a tendency for the amount of accumulated PM2.5 in the atmosphere to increase.
The centre has advised the public to wear face masks when they are in the open and to limit their open-air exercises or other outdoor activities.
