CCSA closes all entertainment venues in 41 provinces for 14 days minimum

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to close all entertainment outlets, including pubs, bars, karaoke bars and massage parlours, in 41 provinces, including Bangkok, for at least 14 days, Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiatiphum Wongrachit told the media at 3pm today (Thursday).

He explained, however, that eateries, which do and do not serve alcohol, are allowed to operate as normal, but must strictly observe basic safety measures. If an infection is found in any of them though, they may face closure for at least two weeks.

In addition, the communicable disease committee of each respective province is empowered to close any eatery, which they regard as being at high risk of transmission of the disease, for at least two weeks.
