Cabinet ministers and Government House officials to wear black on Tuesday
All cabinet ministers and officials at Government House are to wear black on Tuesday as the country mourns those killed in the mass shooting in Thailand’s north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima at the weekend, when over 30 people, including the gunman, lost their lives and more than 50 were injured.
Bouquets of flowers were placed in front of the Terminal 21 shopping mall today, the scene of the dramatic 12 hour siege.
A brief religious ceremony was held in front of the mall by the family of a 25-year old man, who had just stepped out of his SUV in front of the mall when he was shot dead by the gunman who arrived at the scene in a stolen Humvee.
About 5,000 Korat residents attended a candle-lit prayer ceremony in the square near the Thao Suranaree statue in memory of those who died.
Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Wichien Chanthanothai said that nine of the injured are in a critical condition, with three still unconscious.
