Members of the community of deaf women and men once again have their platform to demonstrate their unique talents and promote social equality with the Miss & Mister, Miss Queen Deaf Thailand 2020 whose final will be held in April 2020.

The Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) is a partner in organizing the beauty pageant whose winners will represent Thailand in three international events.  The event is organized to mark the 10th anniversary of Miss Deaf Thailand 2020, part of the network of the National Association of the Deaf in Thailand (NADT).

“The competition is intended to promote more equal society as it offers crucial opportunities for people with a hearing impairment to demonstrate their abilities and talents,” said Nisit Koonpol, Thai PBS’s Head of Life Quality Programming.

He said Thai PBS as a public broadcasting service is obliged to raise awareness and encourage equal participation of people in every aspect of social life.   As a partner, Thai PBS is providing a venue for the contest and publicity for the event.

The preliminary round of the contest took place during December 21–22, 2019 at the Convention Hall at the headquarters of Thai PBS on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.  The 45 contestants who go through to the next round include 15 for Miss Deaf Thailand 2020, 15 for Mister Deaf Thailand 2020 and 15 for Miss Queen Deaf Thailand 2020.

The final round will be held on April 4, 2020. Updated information about the contest is available at www.facebook.com/MissMisterDeftThailand
