11.40pm: The Thai-Chinese high-speed train tunnel in Khlong Khananchit, in the Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, collapses, trapping 3 workers, one Myanmar national and two Chinese (an excavator driver and a project supervisor).
August 25
A rescue team is mobilised. They start by removing the debris and try to send oxygen to where the workers are believed to be trapped.
August 26
4am: The rescue team detects signs that the 3 workers are still alive. They try to send more oxygen through the tunnel.
August 27
Chinese rescue teams join the Thai team and draft a plan to use reinforcement bars to prevent further collapse of the tunnel. The Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) and their rescue dogs identified the location of an excavator and dump truck.
August 28
The State Railway of Thailand launches an investigation into the cause of the accident and adjusts its security protocols.
August 29
11am: Nakhon Ratchasima governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum confirms that they had found the first worker dead, about 3 metres from the entrance to the tunnel. The body was taken to a hospital for autopsy.
August 30
6.10am: Nakhon Ratchasima governor confirms that they have found the last two bodies, not far from the first one.
10.30am: Their bodies are transferred to hospital for autopsy.
