The Thai Red Cross Society has praised a 19-year-old from Surin province for donating his organs, describing the decision as a final act of great merit that could help many patients in need.
On its Facebook page, the Thai Red Cross Society stated that doctors had declared Boonyarit Suriyongkot brain-dead, prompting his family to donate his liver, kidneys and heart valves.
The society also offered its condolences to Boonyarit’s family, expressing hope that his final and generous act of giving will bring peace to his soul.
Those who wish to consent to the donation of their organs at death can do so online at https://eyeorgandonate.redcross.or.th/ or via the application.
Donors using the application will receive an e-card to keep on their mobile phones.
