Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in Chiang Mai province has halted visits to three waterfalls, due to safety concerns following heavy downpours and the possibility of flash floods.
The order was issued after the water in the falls turned murky.
Officials have also warned residents living along creeks near the park about possible overflows and flooding.
The three waterfalls are Mae Sa and Tat Mok in Mae Rim district, as well as Mok Fah in Mae Taeng district. They will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.
Meanwhile, deep floodwater remains in downtown Chiang Mai, making it difficult for people to get to schools and offices.
Some residents have moved their vehicles to higher ground, such as on bridges or elevated roads, top prevent them becoming inundated.
