Anti-establishment demonstrators rally at German Embassy in Bangkok
Anti-establishment demonstrators have gathered at the German Embassy on Sathorn Road in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, after a march from their assembly point at Samyan, where they gathered at about 6pm.
Earlier in the afternoon, police warned the protesters not to hold the rally, because their organizers had not sought permission, 24 hours in advance, from the police.
Hundreds of police have been deployed to provide security to the protesters as well as to maintain peace and order around the Embassy.
A few hours earlier, pro-monarchy demonstrators also rallied in front of the German Embassy. They then submitted a letter, addressed to the German Ambassador, offering their explanation of the political situation in Thailand.
