Air quality in and around Bangkok will remain bad for at least another day

Bangkokians will have to continue to bear with health-threatening air pollution for at least another day tomorrow as air quality at 22 traffic-congested areas in and around the city remains bad with the amount of dust particles in the air exceeding safety levels.

For the third day in a row, the Pollution Control Department reported today that the amount of dust particles hovering in the air above 18 areas and 22 roadside points in and around Bangkok was measured this morning to exceed standard level with the Pahonyothin road where construction of a train project is under way being described as the worst polluted.

The Pollution Control Department said that it had coordinated with the City Administration and five neighbouring provinces to strictly enforce measures to reduce dust particles in the air such as watering road surfaces to get rid of dust and spraying water into the air.
