Palang Pracharat MP Sira Jenjakha lodged a complaint with Chanasongkhram police today (Monday) against three opposition MPs, accusing them of joining the student-led protest, during which the Thai Monarchy was fiercely criticized by some speakers.
The Bangkok MP named them as Mongkolkit Suksintharanont, of the Thai Civilized Party, Peerawit Ruangluedolapark, of the Thai Rak Thai Party and Nattha Boonchai-insawat of the Kao Klai Party.
Producing a picture showing the three MPs raising the three-finger salute, Sira said he wondered whether they were at the protest site to observe the protest or to participate in it, adding that they should have realized that the protest was illegal and the protest location was off-limits to unauthorized people.
He went on to say that he will ask House Speaker Chuan Leekpai to investigate the conduct of the trio, to see whether they had breached the ethical conduct of parliamentarians.
The government MP has assigned a legal team to collect evidence, to substantiate a petition to be filed with the Constitutional Court seeking dissolution of the three opposition parties.
