Vietnam’s House speaker to visit Thailand

Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will pay a four-day to Thailand next week, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His counterpart, Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, will host Dinh Hue at the National Assembly on December 7-10. During his stay in Bangkok, the two sides are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding to further enhance the cooperation between their legislative branches.The two law-making bodies are seeking to strengthen exchanges of high-level visits as well as between their specialised committees. The Thai house speaker met Hue in Jakarta on August 7, when they both attended the Asean Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.According to a parliament source, Dinh Hue will have an audience with HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn. He will also pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.Furthermore, he will deliver a speech at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering on December 8, on the evolution of Vietnamese-Thai engagement that has built trust and a strategic partnership for peace and sustainable development.Then, he will fly to Udon Thai at the weekend to open ”Vietnam Town” in Muang District. It will be the first town of its kind in the world. The Thai-Vietnamese community in Thailand, known as Viet-Khieu, numbers about 100,000.His four-day trip comes at a time when the two countries are enjoying an excellent relationship as they implement the Thailand-Vietnam Enhanced Strategic Partnership for 2022-2027. They plan to upgrade their relations to a “comprehensive strategic partnership” next year
