Young Thai puppet art performers of Nataya Bangkok Club have won two prestigious awards – Best Traditional Show Award and Audience Award – in the 8th World Puppet Carnival in Yekaterinburg, Russia. 

Nataya Bangkok Club represented Thailand at the carnival which was held between Aug 13-18.

Den Mahalert, chairman of Nataya Bangkok Club, said the event featured the final round of competition participated by 50 teams, which were selected from 600 teams from all over the world.

The Audience Award was decided by votes from members of the audience watching the show and viewers of the live telecast of the competition on Russian television stations.

The Thai team returned to Thailand on Wednesday morning.
