Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is the most outstanding government politician, while his government’s ‘Co-Payment Plus’ scheme is the most favoured policy among the people, according to a recent Suan Dusit Poll.
Suan Dusit University conducted an opinion survey, called the “Thai Political Index”, between September 23rd and 26th, by interviewing 2,012 people by phone.
In the poll, Anutin scored 55.98% for his outstanding role, followed by Paradorn Prissananantakul, 24.38% and Sabeeda Thaised, 19.64%.
Among opposition politicians, People’s party leader, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, received 44.27% of the votes, followed by two other party members, Rukchanok Srinork, 30.84% and Parit Wacharasindhu, 24.89%.
In terms of policy, the ‘Co-Payment Plus’ scheme scored 46.25%, followed by 42.19% for not reopening the border with Cambodia and 11.56% for policies to reduce the cost of living.
The Opposition’s most popular achievement is the passage of several pieces of legislation beneficial to the people, 61.22%, followed by updating the border situation report, 23.98% and the bid to write a new charter, 14.80%.
Pornphan Buathong, chair of Suan Dusit Poll, said that the high scores for Anutin’s administration also reflect the people’s disappointment with the performance of Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s administration.
NIDA Poll, however, reports that the People’s party is most favoured by respondents and its leader, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, is more favoured to be Thailand’s prime minister than Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai party.
The NIDA poll, which gauged the opinions of 2,500 respondents, shows Natthaphong receiving 22.80% of the votes as the most favoured person to become prime minister, compared to Anutin’s 20.44%, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan of Thai Sarng Thai party’s 7.16%, Chaikasem Nitisiri of Pheu Thai’s 6.76% and Prayut Chan-o-cha’s 2.72%.
The People’s party remains the most popular, with 33.08%, followed by Pheu Thai’s 13.96%, Bhumjaithai’s 13.24%, United Thai Nation’s 6.12%, the Democrat party’s 5.52%, Thai Sarng Thai’s 2.92% and the Palang Pracharath party’s 1,72%.
