The Constitutional Court has agreed, by 5:3 votes, to consider a motion for the court to rule on the duties and authorities of parliament in amending the country’s Constitution, in accordance with Section 210.
The urgent motion was jointly proposed to parliament by Senator Premsak Piayura and Pheu Thai MP Wisut Chainaroon on March 17th.
Parliament accepted the motion and submitted it to the Constitutional Court on March 21st. Responding to the request on April 2nd, the court instructed the two lawmakers to submit minutes of the parliamentary meeting and to discuss the matter to the court within 15 days.
