Pheu Thai wants Move Forward to find a resolution for the coalition parties

The Pheu Thai party wants the Move Forward party to make a decision on the way out for the eight coalition parties, over the conditions being set for wider parliamentary support for Pheu Thai’s prime ministerial candidate, namely that there will be no amendment of the lèse majesté law and no Move Forward party in the government, said Phumtham Wechayachai, deputy leader of Pheu Thai, today (Friday).

Phumtham said that Pheu Thai has recently approached several senators and core members of several other parities and all of them are averse to any change to the lèse majesté law.

They also said that they will not vote for Pheu Thai party’s prime ministerial candidate if Move Forward remains in the eight party coalition, according to Phumtham, adding that he will schedule a meeting of the core members of the coalition parties next week, before parliament is due to meet on August 4th, to select the prime minister.

He said he will report the views of the senators and the other parties, regarding the lèse majesté law and the Move Forward party, to the meeting.

Phumtham said he especially wants Move Forward to decide what to do and to find a way out for the coalition parties.
