Nurses in 14-day quarantine after infected patient conceals chronology

Nurses at a hospital in Thailand’s southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat have had to enter quarantine, after a COVID-19 infected patient allegedly refused to disclose their true chronology.

At least 10 nurses at Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital expressed their frustration, after they had been in close contact with the infected patient, who had recently travelled from high-risk areas.

A provincial public health doctor in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Dr.Charaspong Sukkree, reiterated the importance of disclosing accurate chronologies, as refusal to do so could result in legal action being taken, adding that having 10 nurses in quarantine means that its emergency medicine department will be short staffed.

He also said that all medical personnel have now increased their protection, assuming that all incoming patients are infected with coronavirus.
