A construction contractor from Bangkok has won the contract to demolish the old Klang Dong police station building in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Klang Dong district today, with an open bid of 25,000 baht.
The winning bid was submitted by Amornthep Wanthong. The starting price was 18,800 baht. The starting price was originally 15,000 baht, but was increased after a resurvey of the building.
The contractor now has 30 days to demolish the two-story building, remove the debris and dispose of it responsibly. The land will then be used as a carpark and police training ground.
A new three-story police station, costing Bt22 million, was constructed behind the old one and is already operational.
Amornthep said he is unsure whether the price being paid for the demolition and debris removal will be worth the investment.
