The government is planning to arrange for Thai students to attend summer camps, for about six weeks, in countries such as the United States, the UK, China, South Korea and Singapore, to broaden their horizons and knowledge, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra told a large group of students at Government House on National Children’s Day today.
The prime minister presided over the Children’s Day activitiesat Government House this morning, the highlight of which was the now traditional opportunity for the students to sit in the prime minister’s chair in her office.
In her speech, the prime minister urged them to learn, at everyopportunity, from the knowledge and from the experiences ofother people and events.
She said that students should be open to learning, to keep abreast of changes in society and to be able to adapt accordingly, adding that they should have the right to choose their future paths.
Asked how to be good parents, she responded that goodparents are happy and, by being so, their children will be happy too.
