The Ministry of Education is considering taking legal action against the Bad Student website and its administrator for identifying teachers and schools which prohibited students in casual clothing from attending classes on the first day of the second semester on Tuesday.

In an interview with the Inside Thailand TV programme this morning (Wednesday), Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan said that such disclosures may violate the right for privacy of the teaching staff and their schools.

On its website, the Bad Student group is encouraging students, who were denied entry to their schools or whose parents were summoned to meet with school administrators for their child’s defiance of the dress code, to report the names of the schools and teachers involved.

The Bad Student group has threatened to expose them on their webpage to denounce or shame them.
