Bangkok police are looking for a Singaporean man for questioning over the suspicious death of his Thai girlfriend in a Sukhumvit area condominium room.
The 30-year-old victim, identified only as “Praopilat”, was a native of Khon Kaen province. She was found dead on the floor of the bathroom of a 22nd-floor room, with her naked body wrapped in a bed sheet and covered by a blanket.
According to a police report, the victim’s two friends filed a complaint with Thonglor police on Wednesday evening, after they had not been able to contact her since Monday. They then took the complaint form to the condominium, to seek permission from the management to enter Praopilat’s room.
The room was found unlocked, so they entered only to find their friend already dead in the bathroom. Thonglor police attended the scene to investigate.
The CCTV system at the condominium building showed that the victim, with her Singaporean boyfriend, identified as Daniel Benjamin, left the room on Sunday evening at about 6.42pm. Both were spotted again at about 9pm in front of a lift.
Shortly after midnight, the Singaporean was seen again in front of a lift and, on Tuesday at about 3.15pm, he was seen exiting the room with a suitcase and leaving the condo in a black Mercedes.
Police say that the registered owner of the black Mercedes is already deceased.
At the time of this report, it is not clear how the victim met her demise.
