The Central Investigation Bureau’s (CIB) Anti-Human Trafficking Division have arrested five people suspected of involvement in human trafficking and the procuring of girls under 18 to provide sex services to customers via its websites.
Police have also seized cash, bank accounts, land title deeds, gold and other ornaments, smartphones and computers worth about 30 million baht in a recent raid on their location.
Police claim that the gang, in its four years of operation, has procured about 46,000 young girls and made more than 100 million baht in profits from the illegal sex trade.
Four of the suspects, who worked as website administrators, are specialised in computer programming and are capable of concealing the locations of their websites to avoid detection.
