Another tropical storm, the 14th this year, is expected to make landfall in Vietnam today and arrive in Thailand’s far northeast tomorrow morning and the rest of the north in the afternoon, according to Team Group, a private company specialised in water resources and weather forecasting.
They say that the storm will bring heavy to very heavy rain to Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Bung Kan, Sakhon Nakhon, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Roi-et and Kalasin tomorrow morning.
Heavy rain is forecast in the afternoon for Nan, Phrae, Sukhothai, Uttaradit Phitsanuloke, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet, Uthai Thani and Tak.
Chiang Mai, Lampang, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, the Mae Sot district of Tak are expected to experience heavy rain on Monday, before the storm weakens as it enters Myanmar.
Last week, the remnant of Typhoon Kajiki hit several northern provinces, causing fatal mudslides and property damage from flooding in Ma Chaem district of Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son provinces.
