Temperatures across Thailand, except in the southern region, are forecast to drop by 2-4oC in northeastern provinces and by 1-3°C in the northern, central and eastern regions, including Bangkok, in the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department reported today.
In the northern region, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son, will see rain, while the temperature is forecast to drop by 1-3.
Minimum temperatures will range from 16-20°C in the lowlands and 4-10°C in mountainous areas.
In northeastern provinces, minimum temperatures will range from 15-20oC and it will be cooler in the highlands, where temperatures may drop to 6-12°C.
There may be rain in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram. Minimum temperatures will range from 19 to 22°C.
In the eastern region, rain is forecast for Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 20 and 22°C.
Temperatures in Bangkok and its suburbs are forecast to drop by 1-2°C, to a minimum of 20°C. Maximum temperatures are set to reach 28 or 29°C.
In the southern region, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Phatthalung, Songkhla and Pattani provinces will face heavy to very heavy rainfall. Minimum temperatures will range from 21-24°C. Rough seas can be expected, with waves of 2-3 metres in height and over 3 metres in stormy areas.
The west coast of the southern region will face heavy rain, covering most of Ranong, Phang-nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun provinces, with rough seas of 1-2 metre waves. Minimum temperatures will range from 23-24°C.
