Police are investigating the cases of two foreign tourists, who died after attending a music festival on Phuket Island during the weekend.
One victim was a 28-year-old Canadian, who was found unconscious at the Electric Daisy Carnival Thailand 2025 (EDC Thailand), in Thalang district yesterday, and was rushed to Thalang Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Police transferred the body to Vachira Phuket Hospital for an autopsy and the Canadian Embassy in Thailand will be notified about the death.
Phuket police were also alerted to the death of a 32-year-old Vietnamese-American tourist. There were no signs of injury on the body and an investigation revealed that the individual collapsed while attending the event at about 11.30pm on Saturday.
Medical personnel stationed at the event unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate him. Doctors say he died from unnatural causes.
