Most of Thailand, with the exception of the southern region, will remain cool in the mornings, with the arrival of a strong cold weather system from China, blanketing the South China Sea and the northern and north-eastern regions of the country, according to the Meteorological Department.
Meanwhile, the north-eastern monsoon, which is blanketing the Gulf, the southern region and the Andaman Sea, is intensifying. This weather pattern will bring more rain to the south. Stronger winds and seas are predicted in the southernGulf, with waves averaging two metres and higher in stormy areas.
Minimum temperatures in the northern region will range from 13-18°C in the lowlands and 4-10°C in mountainous areas, with occasional frost.
Minimum temperatures in the north-eastern region will range from 11-18°C in the lowlands and 8-12°C in the highlands.
In the central plains, 17-20°C is forecast for the next 24 hours. In Bangkok and its peripherals, the temperature is expected to drop to 20°C tomorrow morning.
