A huge fire broke out at a three-story building housing a wax museum workshop in Nakhon Pathom province this morning.
Firefighters, who rushed to the Thai Human Imagery Museum in Nakhon Chaisi district, took about an hour to get the fire under control.
The blaze destroyed many waxworks in the building, which was used to store unfinished figures and equipment for making them.
A witness told police that he heard something explode before the blaze broke out.
The museum, which opened in 1982, housed about 120 waxworks, including those of the Thai monarchs, famous monks and international figures.
People have been asked to avoid the area, to allow firefighters to work.
