About 5,000 police officers have been deployed to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) and surrounding areas today to ensure security during the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings, which begin today.
Everyone entering the meeting venue will be screened and is advised to carry an official pass. However, members of the public wishing to access Benjakitti Park may do so as normal, except in partially restricted zones.
Roads around the convention center will remain open to traffic unless closures become necessary, in which case motorists will be warned in advance.
Police have, however, advised motorists to avoid the following corridors:
- Sukhumvit Road: From the Phloen Chit expressway ramp to the Asoke intersection.
- Ratchadapisek Road: From the Asoke intersection to the Rama IV intersection.
- Rama IV Road: From the Rama IV intersection to Wireless Road.
- Wireless Road: From the Sarasin intersection to Duang Phithak Road.
