More equipment pour in to support rescue operations
Help poured in from the private sector to support the search and rescue operations in a spontaneous show of spirit of volunteerism.
Several support equipment supplied with courtesy of Chevron Thailand arrived at the cave this afternoon (Sunday). They include 200 oxygen cylinders and regulators, 50 special cold-resistant dive suits for the Seal team, 64 backpacks, 400 lamps and three truck load of flexible PVC water tubes.
Chevron also sent 16 staff members who include four engineers and two geologists to help out. Some of Thailand’s well-known chefs and local people also brought in foods and set up emergency kitchens for rescue teams, relief workers and volunteers.
Meanwhile, about 500 monks held a mass prayer to bless the safe return home for the 13 boys and their coach who were trapped in Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district since last Saturday.
The religious ceremony was held on the ground of Ban Jong school in Tambon Pong Pha, Mae Sai district, by the office of Buddhism of Chiang Rai.
Song for life singer and song writer Surachai Chanthimathorn, aka Nga Caravan, penned a song to give moral support to all the rescuers and the missing 13.
