Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday) announced adjustments to COVID-19 monitoring zones and the easing of some restrictions, effective Monday (June 21st).
All entertainment venues, pubs, bars and karaoke bars across the country will remain closed. Serving alcohol remains banned in the Dark Red, Red and Orange zones.
The Dark Red Zone, which requires the highest level of control, will still include Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan.
Gatherings of more than 50 people are still prohibited in this zone, but dine-in will be allowed up until 11pm, instead of 9pm currently. Tha maximum number of customers cannot be more than half the venue’s full capacity in air-conditioned eateries, as opposed to 25% currently.
Shopping centres can still only open until 9pm. No on-site classes or activities which draw large crowds are allowed. All sports venues will remain closed, though outdoor sports venues and those with air-ventilation can open until 9pm without spectators.
The number of provinces classified as Red Zones will be reduced from 17 to 11. These now include Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Trang, Nakhon Pathom, Pattani, Phetchaburi, Songkhla, Samut Sakhon, Saraburi, Yala, and Narathiwat. Gatherings of more than 100 people remain banned.
The number of provinces in the Orange Zones will be reduced from 56 to only 9 provinces. These now include Chanthaburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ayutthaya, Ranong, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Sa Kaeo, and Samut Songkhram. Gatherings of more than 150 people remain banned.
The Yellow Zones will comprise the remaining 53 provinces, while there are no provinces in the green zone.
