China has given top-priority to the relationship between China and Thailand, especially for the first official visit to China by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and has arranged for him to meet with President Xi Jinping, Zhao Leji, chairman of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress, and Prime Minister Li Qiang, according to Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek.
The Thai prime minister and his delegation arrived in Shanghai Thursday night. They will also visit Chengdu and Beijing.
Today, he is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai and deliver a speech at the conference. Later, he will meet with the president of Kazakhstan for bilateral talks and then visit ‘AgiBot’, a Chinese techno logics and robotics company.
In the afternoon, Anutin will pay a courtesy call on President Xi Jinping. In the evening, the prime minister and his delegation will meet with the mayor of Shanghai for talks on increased cooperation.
On Saturday, the prime minister and his delegation will meet with Thai investors in China for discussions over lunch in Chengdu, before presiding over the opening of the Thailand-China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum. The prime minister will also officiate at the opening of a Thai investment division at the Thai Consulate General in Chengdu and hold talks with executives of six Chinese companies regarding Chinese investment in Thailand.
On Sunday, the prime minister and his delegation will be in Beijing for discussions with top executives of Huawei.
On Monday, Anutin will meet with Zhao Leji, chairman of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress and a member of the Chinese Politburo, before attending a formal welcoming ceremony followed by bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart. The two prime ministers will witness the signing of an agreement on cooperation between agencies of the two countries.
In the afternoon, the prime and his delegation will visit Alibaba’s head office and the CP Centre.
