Phuket international airport will resume domestic operations tomorrow, after being closed since April 10th, as part of the lockdown measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Initially, the airport was to reopen on May 1st, but due to concerns over the further spread of the disease in the province, which recorded he second highest number of cases after Bangkok, the closure was extended until now.
Currently, several provincial airports are operating only domestic services. They include Khon Kaen, Chumpon, Tak, Trat, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nan, Narathiwat, Buri Ram, Phitsanuloke Pai, Phetchabun, Phrae, Mae Sot, Mae Hong Son, Ranong, Roi-et, Loei, Lampang, Sakhon Nakhon, Sukhothai, Udon Thani and Ubon Ratchathani.
Meanwhile, the Airport Rail Link, between Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi international airport, is scheduled to resume operation on Monday.
