Further easing of the lockdown restrictions are expected in mid-June. The CCSA, chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, will meet this Friday to consider business and leisure activities from which restrictions can safely be lifted in the fourth phase of easing, CCSA spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin told a news briefing on Wednesday.
He said that bars, pubs, massage parlors and karaoke bars will remain closed because of the high-risk of cluster infections.
He said that the CCSA will consider the 4th, or red group of activities, which is divided into schools and other educational institutes, economic and livelihood activities and sports and recreational activities.
Dr. Taweesin said schools, international schools and tutorial schools will be allowed to reopen and government units will be able to organize seminars, but social distancing must be observed.
Regarding economic and livelihood related activities, the sale of alcoholic drinks in restaurants, food shops and hotels, excluding pubs, bars and karaoke bars, will be permitted in accordance with relevant regulations, but their promotion is not allowed. Buffet services can resume, but no self-service.
Child nurseries and elderly people’s homes, can resume operations, but children must be separated by one metre when they sleep in nurseries.
Exhibition and conference halls can reopen, but a four square metre space must be reserved for each participant. Planetariums can also reopen.
On public transport, two passengers can sit together with one seat left vacant and the number of passengers in a vehicle must be no more than 70% of its normal capacity.
Group exercising in parks or sports area is permissible, but each group must not exceed 50 people and a five square metre space must be reserved for each participant.
Game machines in shopping malls, community malls, cinemas and amusement parks can reopen, but players may spend only two hours at each machine.
Dr. Taweesin, however, said that there might be some adjustments to the plan.
