The police inspector-general, Pol Gen Tatchai Pitaneelaboot, announced in Mae Sot district, Tak province, today that he had received confirmation that the missing Chinese actor, Xingxing, had been located.
Xingxing is expected to be sent back to Thailand in Mae Sot district today.
Pol Gen Thatchai, in his capacity as head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Centre, flew from Bangkok to Mae Sot district this morning to receive Xingxing upon his arrival from Myawaddy township in Myanmar.
Pol Gen Thatchai is accompanied by senior police officers, including the commissioner of 6th Region Provincial Police Bureau, Pol Lt-Gen Kittisak Durongkhavibul.
It was reported that the Mae Sot police had held in custody the driver of a van which picked up Xingxing at the district airport.
The police inspector-general said that it appeared that Xingxing was not abducted or forced to be in Myanmar, but he could be a victim of a scam.
It was reported that Mae Sot police superintendent, Pol Col Pittayakorn Petcharat, had received a phone call from Maj Hmong Win, deputy commander of the Border Guard Force, that his troops had found Xingxing in their territory and he would be sent across the border to Mae Sot today.
