The head office of The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), in Nonthaburi province, has been ordered closed for three days for disinfection, after an outsource employee was found to be infected with COVID-19.
Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, Sutthichai Juprasertporn, said today (Tuesday) that, as a precautionary measure, all staff working in close proximity with the infected person must be isolated in state quarantine for 14 days and screened for the virus, while those who work in the same building, but are considered at low risk, were told to confine themselves at home for 14 days.
Staff who are not at risk of being infected and working in the same or other buildings have been advised to work from home until further notice, said Mr. Suthichai.
The unidentified infected person has not visited any high risk areas during the past 14 days, but his accommodation is close to the shelters of many migrant workers, he said.
Meanwhile, Interior Permanent Secretary Chatchai Promlert has instructed all provincial governors to tighten up COVID-19 preventative measures at all fresh markets, to avoid a repetition of the Bang Khae market cluster of infections.
The measures include strict enforcement of social distancing, the wearing of face masks, temperature checks before entering markets and registration via the Thai Chana or Mor Chana applications.
Defence volunteers have been told to assist public health volunteers in the enforcement of precautionary measures in markets and in their surrounding areas.
