Starting today (Tuesday), people who suffer from mental or developmental disorders, such as autism, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or learning disabilities and their family members who live in Bangkok and three other neighbouring provinces can register for COVID-19 inoculation online.

The registration, through a Google form in Thai, opens for 10 days from today until May 20. Inoculations start from May 28, between 08.30-16.30 at the Rajanukul Institute Department of Mental Health.

The programme, pioneered in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani, is a cooperation between the Department of Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities and the Rajanukul Institute Department of Mental Health.

There are about 2,000 people with mental and developmental disorders and their family members under the care of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

According to Government Spokesperson Dr. Ratchada Thanadirek, vulnerable groups are being prioritized by the government because they may lack support.

A round-the-clock hotline 1300 has been set up by the Ministry of of Social Development and Human Security for vulnerable groups affected by Covid-19.

For more information, call the Rajanukul Institute Department of Mental Health at 0-2248-8900 or 0-2245-4696.

Currently, people over 60 and those suffering from seven underlying diseases are the first group, after frontline medical personnel, eligible to register for vaccination, with inoculations scheduled to start in June.
