Two Thai employees die, another injured in factory explosion in Taiwan

Two Thai workers were killed and another seriously injured in an explosion at an aluminium factory in Taiwan on Saturday.

The three Thais were among six employees who sustained injuries in the explosion at the Juei Feng aluminium factory in the Hu Noei area. Two Thais were later pronounced dead, while the third is now in a stable condition following surgery.

The Thai labour office near the aluminium plant is working on compensation and other benefits for the victims.

Thailand’s Public Health Minister Cholnan Srikaew said that the ministry is coordinating with the Foreign Ministry to arrange for the return to Thailand of the injured worker, if he so wishes, and has assigned its officials in Chaiyaphum and Maha Sarakham provinces to provide bereavement support to the dead victims’ families.
