Two new COVID-19 cases in state quarantine recorded in Thailand today

Thailand has recorded two new COVID-19 infections and two new recoveries today, according to the CCSA.

One case is a 27-year old female Thai student, arriving from England and entering state quarantine in Samut Prakan province,and the other is a 19-year old male Thai student, returning from South Africa and entering state quarantine in Bangkok.

The two new cases bring cumulative infections in Thailand to 3,585, including 2,445 local transmissions and 647 imported cases.  Cumulative recoveries have increased to 3,388, with 138 still being treated in hospital. The death toll remains 59.

Globally, total infections, at 9am today, were 35,127,596, while total recoveries number 26,121,777.  The total death toll is 1,037,941.

The United States still has the world’s most confirmed cases, at 7,600,846, followed by India’s 6,547,413, Brazil’s 4,906,833and Russia’s 1,204,502.

Thailand is ranked 138th, with 3,585 confirmed cases.
