The film “Letter from the Sun: Unforgettable Moment”, produced by Thai PBS, received the Special Mention Award at the 6th Innovative International Film Festival held in Bengaluru, India between October 12 and 15 last year.

Thai Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kanchana Patarachoke handed over the award at a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry in Bangkok on January 18.

Broadcast on Thai PBS, the short film was among three short films in a research program, under the Multicultural Studies and Social Innovation Centre of the Institute of Asian Studies at Chulalongkorn University, which aims to promote the economic potential of Thai culture.

The film beat 150 others from 23 countries participating in the competition.

As part of the ministry’s cultural diplomacy, the ministry presents films to international audiences, to promote a better understanding of Thailand as well as to provide opportunities for Thai films in foreign markets, according to the ministry’s press release.
