Thailand’s daily COVID-19 death toll record was broken yet again on Tuesday, with 235 fatalities, though daily infections have dropped slightly over the past few days, with 19,843 new cases logged today.

Of the newly reported deaths, 122 were men and 113 were women, aged between 20 and 100. The majority were Thai, with 2 Myanmar nationals. 111 were in Bangkok alone.

Of the new cases, 398 were found in prisons and only 21 among arrivals from abroad. Most cases were attributed to local transmission. 211,223 infected people are being treated nationwide, 5,450 of whom are in a severe condition, with 1,106 people on ventilators.

Accumulated cases and deaths, since April this year, are 767,088 and 6,494 respectively.

Bangkok is still seeing the most infections, with 4,226 new cases logged today and accumulated infections since April this year accounting for almost 25% of all cases nationwide.

Other provinces in the top ten list are Samut Sakhon (1,639), Samut Prakan (1,006), Chon Buri (1,005), Nonthaburi (959), Pathum Thani (528), Nakhon Pathom (509), Ayutthaya (396), Ubon Ratchathani (387), and Saraburi (373).

Thailand has administered more than 21 million doses of vaccines to date, with 4.56 million, or 6.5% of the entire population, being fully vaccinated, and over 268,000 people, mostly medics and related professionals, having received a third booster doses.
