Thailand’s COVID-19 fatalities rose by 21 on Saturday with 1,891 new infections

The daily COVID-19 death toll jumped to new high of 21 today (Saturday), while new infections increased to 1,891, compared to 1,583 on Friday, according to the CCSA.
Cumulative infections, since early last year, are 67,044 and cumulative fatalities are 224, including 130 deaths last monthalone.
CCSA spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin told the media today that, of today’s fatalities, Bangkok accounted for 10, with 2 each in Chon Buri and Samut Prakan and 1 each in Ubon Ratchathani, Kalasin, Chiang Mai, Pathum Thani and Phetchaburi. The dead include 9 men and 12 women, aged between 39 and 90, most of whom had comorbidities.
Of the 1,891 new infections, 1,799 were among those under observation and 85 cases were found during active screening. 7were among arrivals from abroad.
28,745 people are still being treated in hospitals, including 829 severe cases, of whom 270 are on ventilators.
