The Thai Armed Forces held a ceremony today to honour 15 military officers who sacrificed their lives fighting for their country during clashes with Cambodia, as well as 16 civilians who lost their lives during the attacks.
Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Gen Songwit Noonpackdee presided over the ceremony, which was attended by representatives of the families, the military branches, military attachés, government agencies, private organizations and civil servants.
A merit-making ceremony was dedicated to the fallen soldiers and civilians. In a solemn atmosphere, families of the deceased laid wreaths to pay their respects to and remember the courage and sacrifices of those who protected Thailand.
The fallen military officers were Private Waranchit Yuangsuwan, Sgt. Thawatchai Busapha, Sgt. Jirayu Singhon, Sgt. Nopadol Bunlert, Sgt. Kritsada Noikhot, Lance Corporal Sarawut Namsawat, Sgt. Jirayus Intuman, Private Nanapat Khotsakha, Sgt. Amarin Phasuk, Private Sirawit Phinyosuk, Sgt. Anothai Pongkaew, Corporal Theerayut Sijuijai, Corporal Apirom Songphut, Private Theerayut Krajangthong and Lance Corporal Torpong Panduang.
