The Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh has urged Thai nationals in Cambodia, especially those without urgent or essential reasons to remain, to leave the country as soon as possible due to the escalating conflict.
According to a statement published on the embassy’s Facebook page, it has been monitoring the rising tensions between Thailand and Cambodia closely and reports that the situation continues to deteriorate, with border clashes occurring in several areas.
“There are signs that the conflict may become prolonged and expand further,” the statement said.
The embassy strongly advises Thai nationals currently in Cambodia to leave the country as soon as they can safely do so.
It also urges Thai citizens to refrain from travelling to Cambodia unless absolutely necessary and until the situation improves.
