Thai and Cambodian regional commanders finally met this morning and agreed to enforce the ceasefire and halt all troop mobilisation and movements.
Thai Army spokesman Maj Gen Winthai Suvaree said they also agreed that there would be no more attacks on civilians.
The meeting was chaired by Thai Second Army Region Commander Maj Gen Boonsin Padklang, Winthai said.
They also agreed to facilitate cross-border transportation of the injured and deceased. A joint cooperation panel, comprising four representatives from each country, will be established.
Both countries will meet again, to follow up on developments, at the General Border Committee meeting on August 4 in Phnom Penh.
The meeting of regional military commanders is part of the unconditional ceasefire agreement, aimed at ending the recent border clashes. It was initially scheduled to begin at 7am, but was postponed after the Thai Army accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire, which took effect at midnight on July 28th.
