Four Thai soldiers were killed and three injured in a battle for the strategic hilltop of Mount 677, in the Chong Anh Ma area of the northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani today, according to Thai military sources.
Only three of the dead had been identified by the time of this report. They were Sgt-Maj. Damrongkiat Kaewkrachang, Pvt. Mustakim Jehma and Sgt-Maj. Thaveerat Rattanaburi.
The Second Army Region says that Thai troops have now successfully seized full control of Mount 677.
Total death toll among Thai troops since Monday now exceeds 14.
